Pittsburg City Council

Pittsburg Mayor Nancy Parent is a native of Pittsburg and graduate of Pittsburg High School. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, earning a BA in Political Science. She attended Hastings College of the Law and received her JD degree. After serving as a Deputy City Attorney of San Jose she returned to Pittsburg where she has maintained a private law practice for 28 years.

Nancy was elected to the Board of Education of Pittsburg Unified School District in 1978. She became Pittsburg's first female member of the Pittsburg City Council in 1984 and its first woman Mayor. She retired from elective office in 1992 but returned to service in 2002 and will serve a third term as Mayor in 2005. During her prior service she was a member of the Board of Delta Diablo Sanitation District for 8 years.

Active in a number of community causes, Nancy, along with the Mayor of Antioch, helped found Delta 2000, an East County educational coalition, in 1989. She has been an active member of Soroptimist International of Pittsburg for 26 years.

Antioch Mayor Jim Davis served as Council Member since 1998 and Mayor Pro-Tem in 1998, 2002, and 2006, prior to being elected Mayor in 2008. He was born and raised in Antioch, and is a graduate of Antioch High School. Jim attended Los Medanos Community College, studying Real Estate Law/Banking and Personnel Management, and has been employed with Bank of the West since 1986.

He serves as Chairman of the Antioch Development Agency; President of the Mello Roos Board; Representative to Contra Costa Mayors Conference; Lead Committee Member of the Antioch Community Development Block Grants; Council Liaison to the Antioch Youth Council; President of the Board for the Antioch Sister City Organization; Charter Committee Member of the Antioch Multi-Cultural Awareness Foundation; Past President of the Elderly Wish Foundation; Member of the Antioch War Dog Memorial Committee; Member of the League of California Cities, Public Safety Committee (2002-present); Co-Chair of the Antioch 4th of July Parade (1996-2007); Chairperson of Antioch's Inaugural Annual Veteran's Day Parade; Chairperson of Antioch Veteran's Day and Memorial Day Community Ceremony (1998-present); Former Antioch Police Commissioner; Neighborhood Watch Presenter; Member of the Antioch Parks and Recreation Task Force; and District Chairman, Committee Chairperson, Scoutmaster, and Unit Commissioner of Boy Scouts of America.

Glover Federal Glover
Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors

Federal Glover began his career in public service while attending Pittsburg High School where he served as Student Body President. After attending San Francisco State University, Federal joined Dow Chemical Corporation and has worked there for nearly two decades. He won a seat on the Pittsburg City Council in 1995 and was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2001.

Federal served as Mayor of the City of Pittsburg from 1998-1999, was past Chairman of Pittsburg's Redevelopment Agency, Housing Authority and Pittsburg's Power Company. In addition, he served on the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, Transplan, School District Liaison, and Industrial Zone Advisory Committee. Federal is also on the Board of Directors of the East County Boys & Girls Club, and is a member of the N.A.A.C.P., as well as the Sons of Italy.
